Job Title: Senior Workday Integrations Developer (Payroll)

Location: Remote (U.S.A)
Onsite Requirements: Remote
Compensation Range: $90+ an hour
Benefits: N/A (Contract)

Introduction

Our client is looking for experienced Senior Workday Integrations Developers to join a global payroll transformation initiative. This role focuses on developing and supporting complex integrations between Workday and external payroll systems while partnering with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors across multiple countries.

The ideal consultant will have advanced Workday integration expertise, strong payroll integration experience, and a solid understanding of integration architecture. Success in this role also requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and functional stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, test, and maintain Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, and Workday Web Services.
  • Design and support integrations between Workday and external payroll providers, ensuring reliable data exchange across global payroll environments.
  • Develop scalable integration solutions utilizing full file and delta file methodologies, including change detection, incremental processing, and data validation.
  • Create and maintain Advanced Reports, Calculated Fields, and custom reports to support integration requirements and business processes.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues while recommending long-term improvements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with payroll vendors, implementation partners, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, review field mappings, and validate integration functionality.
  • Communicate technical solutions and integration designs to business users and project teams in a clear, easy-to-understand manner.
  • Support global deployment efforts by working with teams across multiple regions, including the Americas and EMEA.

  • Active Workday Integration Certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Workday Integration development experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, PECI, and Workday Web Services.
  • Demonstrated experience building and supporting Workday Payroll integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of integration architecture, including full file and delta file processing, payroll data mapping, and reconciliation.
  • Experience developing Advanced Reports, Calculated Fields, and integration-related reporting solutions within Workday.
  • Proven ability to work directly with third-party payroll vendors and implementation teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business organizations.
