SRE / DevOps Engineer – CopeCart
Who We Are
CopeCart helps entrepreneurs sell digital products professionally. With our headquarters in Berlin and our Product Development & Support Center in Lviv, Ukraine, we provide an all-in-one solution for coaches, course creators, and digital entrepreneurs.
Our diverse, international team delivers a true full-service platform—handling product uploads, sales, payment processing, accounting, and comprehensive analytics—so vendors can focus on growing their businesses.
This is where you come in.
About the Role
We are looking for an SRE / DevOps engineer to enhance our platform by making delivery faster, safer, and less dependent on manual operations.
For the first three to six months, the focus will be on:
- Reducing friction in deploying our new system
- Improving reliability of our AWS-based platform (currently using ECS and containers)
- Introducing agentic engineering practices to help engineers diagnose, fix, and safely ship changes without operational bottlenecks
This is a hands-on production role. You’ll work with:
- Real infrastructure, real deployments, real incidents
- Production-grade systems with proper checks and balances (VPN, least-privilege permissions, runbooks, repo instructions, service maps, deployment procedures, audit trails, and rollback paths)
Additionally, you’ll help integrate AI agents not as a silver bullet but as supervised assistants capable of:
- Inspecting code and operational context
- Suggesting fixes and improving CI/CD workflows
- Aiding in production debugging safely
Your Key Responsibilities
Short-Term Focus (First 3–6 Months)
- Improve the deployment experience for our new system
- Reduce operational bottlenecks slowing down engineering and feature delivery
- Strengthen our AWS production setup (currently ECS & containers)
- Enhance GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows
- Work with Terraform/OpenTofu to make infrastructure more secure, transparent, and easier to modify
- Improve production debugging across:
- AWS
- Containers
- Networking
- Linux
- Application-level issues
- Enhance observability (metrics, logs, and traces)
- Develop or refine:
- Runbooks
- Repository instructions
- Service maps
- Deployment guides
- Operational documentation
- Introduce agentic engineering workflows for issue diagnostics, proposes fixes, and orchestrated validation before production changes
- Design safe guardrails for agent-assisted work, including:
- Permissions & approval gates
- Sandboxing
- Auditability
- Rollback procedures
- Human oversight

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Platform Context & Requirements
We operate on AWS with ECS, and strong hands-on AWS experience is mandatory.
Essential comfort with: ✔ AWS production environments ✔ ECS & containerized services ✔ GitHub Actions ✔ Terraform/OpenTofu ✔ CI/CD pipelines ✔ Linux & networking ✔ Production debugging ✔ Secrets/vaults, VPNs, access control, and operational security ✔ Observability (metrics, logs, traces)
Strategic migration toward Kubernetes is under consideration—your experience here is a strong plus, but we need a clear migration path and judgment around trade-offs (simplification vs. complexity).
Your Profile
Beyond ChatGPT
We’re not looking for anyone treating AI like a magical workaround. Instead, we need engineers who can integrate AI agents responsibly into workflows.
Agentic Engineering Requirements
You should be able to:
- Deconstruct operational challenges into smaller tasks for AI-assisted resolution
- Give agents clear context, repo structure, constraints, and success criteria
- Use agents for deep resource analysis, including:
- Code, infrastructure definitions, CI/CD pipelines, logs, and live services
- Verify (not blindly trust) agent outputs
- Turn agent insights into production-grade, safe fixes
- Implement human-in-the-loop workflows, where agents propose changes but humans approve or reject risky actions
- Know when an agent isn’t needed
Key AI Workflow Examples
✅ Incident Diagnostics
- An agent interprets CI failures, ECS task logs, application errors, and commit history before deploying fixes. ✅ Automated Changes
- An agent suggests a Terraform update, but changes are submitted as a PR with tests & rollback notes. ✅ Runbook Enhancement
- After an incident, the agent updates runbooks using trace data, metrics, and historical logs. ✅ Service Mapping
- An agent contrasts repo structures, infra-as-code, and live configuration to generate an initial service map.
Required Experience
- Deep hands-on expertise in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, or production operations
- Strong AWS production experience
- ECS & containerized service exposure
- GitHub Actions CI/CD workflow management
- Terraform/OpenTofu proficiency
- CI/CD, Linux system tuning, & networking debugging
- Observability maturity across metrics, logs, and traces
- Ability to write production-grade code/scripts in:
- TypeScript
- Bash
- Comfort modifying infra-as-code, CI/CD as code, and application systems
- Strong validated judgment for:
- Production risk mitigation
- Automation guardrails
- Permissions management
- Safe rollback strategies

Nice-to-Haves
✅ Kubernetes experience ✅ Ruby (useful for some legacy systems) ✅ Internal dev platforms (e.g., self-service infra or GitOps tools) ✅ Practical experience with AI agent prompts, repo-level instructions, or agent controls ✅ Work to improve incident response, deployment safety, or on-call quality
What Success Looks Like (In 3–6 Months)
✔ Deployment brittleness is reduced—fewer manual overrides needed ✔ Engineers spend less time blocked by op uncertainties ✔ Production environment is easier to understand (clarified docs, maps, dashboards) ✔ CI/CD speeds up with more reliable feedback ✔ Agentic workflows exist safely—used for debugging, deploy prep, and ops improv ✔ Clear boundaries define agent access (e.g., read/write permissions, advisory gateways) ✔ All production changes are auditable, reviewable, and reversible by design
What We Do Not Want
❌ Avoid if:
You:
- Only handle infra manually
- See AI as magic (without step-by-step constraints)
- Prioritize tech demos over production stability
- Can’t explain how to scale, monitor, test, and roll back automation
- Believe agentic engineering means eliminating humans from decisions
- Suggest cutting controls for “faster development”
