This critical role supports South West Water’s major infrastructure programme—where procurement is central to delivery. Join a strategic, collaborative team shaping a programme that will leave a lasting regional impact.


What You Can Expect

  • Lead procurement across a significant major infrastructure programme
  • Help shape strategy within a developing regulatory model (DPC/SIPR)
  • Work with technical, commercial, and operational teams across stakeholders
  • Play a key role in delivering sustainable, innovative outcomes
  • Operate in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Delivery

  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies for major project scopes
  • Accountable for end-to-end procurement processes (from PQQ through to contract award) for the SRO major project portfolio
  • Design fair, transparent and competitive procurement approaches

Stakeholder & Market Engagement

  • Engage with suppliers to encourage strong, diverse participation
  • Ensure compliance with Procurement Act 2023 and Ofwat guidance

Governance & Collaboration

  • Build clear, auditable processes for governance and reporting
  • Collaborate with legal, engineering, and delivery teams
  • Manage external advisers and support knowledge-sharing

Strategic Alignment

  • Align procurement with widely held programme objectives
  • Drive commercial awareness and problem-solving solutions

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

✔ Experienced procurement manager with:

  • Water/sector utilities or major infrastructure/construction experience
  • Confidence leading complex, high-value procurements
  • Strong procurement regulations and regulated industry knowledge ✔ Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills ✔ Commercial acumen with strategic delivery balance

Nice-to-Have

🔹 MCIPS qualification (or working towards it)
