About the Role
We’re seeking a Staff Product Analyst to join our Product Analytics team and act as a strategic partner to Grafana’s AI organization, supporting:
- Grafana Assistant (synchronous chat experience)
- Investigations (asynchronous AI workflow for incident analysis)
- AI Observability solutions (including Sigil)
You’ll define KPIs, experiment design frameworks, and measurement practices, translate data into actionable insights, and guide product decisions—all while collaborating with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data teams. This is a cross-functional role reporting directly to the Product Analytics Manager, designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of data and product strategy.

Your Responsibilities
- Prioritize success: Partner with Product to establish top-level KPIs, dashboards, and roadmap planning for AI-powered experiences.
- Define "success" for AI: Track and analyze adoption, engagement, quality, retention, and user outcomes of AI features.
- Enable insights: Guide instrumentation with Product Design, Product Management, and Engineering to ensure reliable analysis of AI-driven workflows.
- Experiment mastery: Design, evaluate, and interpret A/B tests and experiments to assess AI impact and inform product decisions.
- Build scalable analytics: Develop dbt models to transform user behavior data in partnership with Analytics Engineering.
- Drive best practices: Shape global Product Analytics standards, ensuring consistency as the company grows.
- Shape the future: Collaborate on the long-term vision and strategy for analytics, balancing immediate needs with scalable solutions.
Requirements
Must-Have
✔ Experience partnering across Product + Engineering, with familiarity with:
- Typical product metrics frameworks (e.g., DAU/MAU, funnels, A/B testing).
- Success metrics for AI-driven features/workflows.
✔ SQL proficiency: Writing complex yet efficient queries daily. ✔ Data visualization experience with tools like Tableau, Looker, Omni, Hex, or Grafana. ✔ dbt expertise: Knowledge of data modeling, transformation, and testing. ✔ Product Analytics tooling: Experience with Heap, Pendo, Amplitude, FullStory, and code version control (Git). ✔ AI-assisted coding: Using tools like Cursor or Claude Code to prototype analyses, models, instrumentation, and visualizations quickly. ✔ Stakeholder management: Excellence in communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences and maintaining cross-functional relationships.

🔹 Observability knowledge: Familiarity with telemetry, alerting, or monitoring systems. 🔹 Workflow automation: Experience with Airflow or Prefect for ad hoc ETL pipelines.
Compensation & Benefits (UK Base)
- Salary range: £91,755 – £110,106 (varies by experience/skills; final offer determined in interview).
- Eligible for equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits, including:
- 30 days paid annual leave (+ 3 Grafana Shutdown Days for mandatory disconnection).
