Staff Product Analyst

We’re hiring a Staff Product Analyst—a remote position for candidates in the UK, Germany, Sweden, or Spain—to shape AI observability at Grafana.


About the Role

This role sits within the growing Product Analytics team as a strategic partner for multiple AI initiatives:

  • Grafana Assistant, our synchronous chat experience for on-demand insights
  • Investigations, our asynchronous AI workflow for incident analysis
  • AI observability solutions, including Sigil

You’ll design analytical frameworks, guide data-driven decisions, and collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data teams.

Reporting to the Product Analytics Manager, success depends on bridging quantitative rigor with qualitative insight to inform AI-powered product experiences.


You Will

  • Partner cross-functionally to define high-value KPIs, dashboards, and roadmap goals
  • Own measurement frameworks for AI-delivery metrics:
    • Adoption
    • Engagement
    • Quality
    • Retention outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data instrumentation for reliable analysis
  • Design, run, and interpret experiments gauging the impact of new AI capabilities
  • Build dbt models to process ad hoc spills and shaped modeling partnerships with Analytics Engineering
  • Champion product analytics best practices, balance short-term delivery with scalable rigor as Grafana evolves
  • Contribute to the Product Analytics roadmap, encompassing core teams through AI observability

Requirements

Must-Have

  • Proven experience aligning with product and engineering teams across large-scale, distributed products
  • Breadth in understanding KPIs for AI/CDN features, not limited to marketing-centric metrics like DAUs, MAUs, or funnel analysis—niche experience here is prioritised
  • SQL fluency: Approved for day-to-day development on ETL loads and dashboards.
  • Calibrated visualisation skills—familiarity with tools: Grafana, Tableau, Looker, Hex or Python (e.g. Matplotlib) to quickly iterate hypotheses.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • dbt translation & packaging; modeling large user behavior datasets.
    • Product Analytics tooling (Heap, FullStory, SDF, Amplitude) and instrumentation.
    • Version control for tooling (Git).
  • Prior familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools to boost iteration cycles.
  • Strong prepared communicators—balancing clarity for non-technical leadership leads across product strategy, budget meetings and iterate with cross-functional peers for product decision-making.

Nice to Haves

  • Understanding of observability, Prometheus/Grafana-style instrumentation
  • Experience with Airflow/Prefect for batch processing or ETL optimisation.

In the UK, this role offers a base pay slate of £91,755 – £110,106, Equity, and your typical annual bonus among benefits.
