Staff Applied Scientist

Staff Applied Scientist, Marketplace Science (Advertising Optimization & Recommendations)

Our work spans three interconnected areas:

  • Marketplace Execution: Building control systems, supply prediction models, and decisioning logic to enable buyers to execute customized strategies efficiently at scale.
  • Marketplace Curation: Developing recommendation systems and curation frameworks to help buyers construct customized inventory strategies balancing audience relevance, publisher quality, and scale.
  • Inventory Science: Designing measurement frameworks and causal methods to quantify the impact of marketplace decisions on advertiser outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain control systems for dynamic ad budget allocation across sell-side partners, driven by quality signals and performance targets.
  • Design and analyze experiments using causal inference methods to measure inventory decisions’ impact on advertiser KPIs.
  • Develop recommendation systems and curation frameworks to aid buyers in discovering supply that aligns with target audiences at scale.
  • Build time-series models to predict supply volume shifts for strategic planning.
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to operationalize research into scalable, production-ready systems.
  • Define the applied science roadmap, addressing high-impact challenges from research to deployment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
