Technology – Staff Data Analyst (Permanent, 1 Opening)
The Opportunity
Data is the lifeblood of our operation, but raw data is only half the story.
As our new Staff Data Analyst, you will champion the strategic use of data across Simply Business, ensuring every insight aligns with our business outcomes and supports our global expansion. You’ll join an award-winning, international data team that’s pioneering cutting-edge Big Data and analytics technologies.

- Influencing product strategy
- Collaborating with data science, engineering, and analytics peers
- Mentoring the next generation of analytical talent
Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Data Analyst, you’ll:
- Deliver high-quality analysis and recommendations to support Product Teams in achieving their objectives.
- Conduct in-depth customer journey analysis and measure the impact of multi-channel strategies.
- Uncover hidden insights through ad-hoc data exploration, visualization, and self-service tooling.
- Partner with data engineers to evolve data sets and pipelines, ensuring our tech stack remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Promote the capabilities of the analysis team, fostering a data-first mindset across Simply Business.
- Mentor junior team members and collaborate with managers to drive individual and team development.

Who You Are
We’re looking for an experienced practitioner who meets many, if not all, of the following criteria:
✅ 7 years+ experience as an Analyst or Data Scientist, backed by a STEM, Economics, or similar degree. ✅ Advanced SQL proficiency—you love diving deep into data structures and writing complex queries. ✅ Proven problem-solving skills for complex analytical challenges, with experience in rigorous A/B testing. ✅ Excellent cross-functional collaborator, working with product, development, and data teams to test hypotheses. ✅ Passionate about challenging the status quo, asking tough questions, and shaping the future of our business. ✅ A bonus (not essential) – prior experience in insurance or a related field.
