Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The opportunity

As a Lead Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering modern cloud-based data platforms from discovery through to production.

You'll work closely with engineers, architects and stakeholders to solve complex data challenges, helping organisations unlock more value from their data while supporting the adoption of AI at scale.

This is a leadership role, but one that keeps you close to the technology. You'll still be writing code, making architectural decisions and solving technical problems, while helping to raise engineering standards across the wider team.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing scalable cloud-based data and AI platforms
  • Building robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark and SQL
  • Developing secure, high-performance data models
  • Supporting the deployment of AI and machine learning solutions into production
  • Providing technical leadership across delivery teams
  • Mentoring engineers and helping them develop their technical capability
  • Driving engineering best practice and contributing to architecture decisions
  • Working with Azure, Databricks, AWS and GCP technologies
