About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
Wolt’s AdTech & Promotions team is building the systems that power how restaurants and brands grow on our platform. From campaign creation to optimization and forecasting, we develop tools that help advertisers make smarter decisions and drive measurable results. As we expand our offering, we are investing in new capabilities that combine real-time data, scalable systems, and intuitive user experiences to unlock the next phase of growth.
We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Wolt AdTech & Promotions organization, who can drive technical direction across this space and help us build reliable, scalable systems that directly impact revenue and advertiser success.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive the technical vision and architecture for Wolt’s AdTech and Promotions platforms, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and high-performing.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and projects, bringing architectural consistency to complex, large-scale systems.
- Work across the end-to-end domain, contributing to backend services, data pipelines, and advertiser-facing tools.
- Design and evolve systems that support campaign execution, targeting, ranking, allocation, and reporting in real-time or near real-time environments.
- Partner with engineering, product, and data stakeholders to align priorities, improve campaign performance, and manage trade-offs in a revenue-driven environment.
- Lead large cross-team projects, guiding them from concept to rollout across multiple regions and time zones.
- Ensure strong operational excellence, including observability, reliability, and incident readiness for revenue-critical systems.
- Promote best engineering practices, mentor engineers across teams, and support their growth in scalability and system design.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical colleagues, ensuring clarity and alignment across functions.
- Contribute to the technical roadmaps of AdTech and Promotions platforms by collaborating with other senior engineers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

What we offer
At Wolt, this role provides a rare opportunity to work on challenging AdTech problems at scale, where technical decisions directly impact revenue and user experience.
Our compensation follows a total compensation model, combining a competitive base salary with DoorDash RSUs.
You will play a key role in building and evolving the next generation of advertisement tools and platforms, shaping how advertisers create, manage, and optimize campaigns across Wolt. As a Staff Engineer, you will have end-to-end ownership and high autonomy, with the ability to influence architecture, product direction, and engineering practices across teams. Your work will have clear, measurable business impact, directly contributing to revenue growth and advertiser success.

Alongside the technical challenge, you’ll work with talented engineers and leaders in a diverse and international environment, shaping both our systems and engineering culture while mentoring and learning from others.
