Our international client is currently searching for a Staff Etch Process Development Engineer

Our international client is currently searching for a Staff Etch Process Development Engineer to be responsible for developing, optimising, and supporting dry and wet etch processes for III-V semiconductor and photonic devices. Driving process improvements, new product introduction (NPI), yield enhancement, and manufacturing efficiency in a semiconductor fabrication environment will all be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, qualify, and improve semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Optimise dry and wet etch processes for performance, repeatability, and yield.
  • Analyse process and equipment data using SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies.
  • Support NPI, technology transfer, and process scale-up into production.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to improve uptime and reduce defects.
  • Lead yield improvement, scrap reduction, cycle time, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product, Equipment, Manufacturing, and R&D teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing (photonics, III-V, MEMS, optoelectronics, silicon photonics desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis, process optimisation, and manufacturing problem solving.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Semiconductor Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical/Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
