Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Staff Frontend Engineer, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, to shape technical strategy and execution alongside key stakeholders. This role involves a mix of autonomous work and collaboration in Fresha’s fast-paced, evolving environment.

Location: London Office (The Bower, 207–211 Old St) Work model: 4 days in-office (Tue–Fri) with flexibility to work remotely on Wednesdays.

  • Hands-on, ownership of tribal architectural direction and strategic cross-team initiatives
  • Anticipate and proactively address technical risks

Technical Expertise

  • Demoed success in:
    • Large, cross-team system delivery at high quality
    • Rapid breakdowns of complex problems with minimal prior context
    • Debugging exceptional edge cases
  • Multi-year strategy:
    • Collaborated on ten-year vision for core systems
    • Created scalable architectures

Leadership Attributes

  • Roadmapping: Sets 6–12 month technical direction
  • Mentorship: Role-model for the team; regular feedback
  • Stakeholder management: Influence upwards and cross-functionally
  • Optimisation: Reduce technical debt and complexity

Hands-on Skills

  • proficiency in complex JavaScript SPA development
  • React/Redux proven expertise
  • Modern toolchain knowledge: NPM, Lerna, Webpack, ESLint
  • Technical vision for creating maintainable, well-documented code

  2. 1st Engineering Stage – Up to 90 mins on technicals
  3. Technical Deep Dive – Further review with engineers (max 2 hours)
  4. Final Pitch – Conversation with CTO (60 mins)

Feedback timeline: Entire process finalised within 4 weeks.
