Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer based in United Kingdom.

This position combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on engineering, allowing you to influence security architecture, automation, and best practices across multiple teams. Accountabilities
- Lead the technical direction of infrastructure security initiatives across cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.
- Design and establish secure architectural patterns, reference implementations, and automation frameworks that improve infrastructure resilience.
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities and drive effective remediation strategies.
- Define and promote best practices for AI-assisted security engineering, enabling scalable and efficient security operations.
- Partner with engineering teams to align security priorities with business objectives while providing technical guidance on architectural decisions.
- Drive multi-team security programs from concept through implementation, translating complex challenges into measurable outcomes.
- Mentor engineers, foster knowledge sharing, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of infrastructure security through secure development practices and operational security initiatives.

Requirements
- Extensive experience in infrastructure security within public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes, container security, cloud infrastructure, and modern infrastructure security principles.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, or Ruby, with experience developing production-grade security tools or automation.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, as well as policy-as-code and automated compliance practices.
- Practical knowledge of applying AI technologies to improve security engineering workflows and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technical initiatives and influencing engineering teams on strategic security decisions.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or FedRAMP.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
