Job Overview
This post is fixed-term/secondment for 12 months until 31.07.27 due to maternity leave. If you are interested in applying, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
About the Organisation
Mold Hospital is a very busy community hospital, at the heart of the local community. We pride ourselves on the high standard of care we provide to both patients and relatives. We aim to ensure that:
- The care patients require is accessed closer to their home
- Discharge planning begins from the day of admission
- Patients are discharged as early as possible
Our staff are committed to the "home first" principles and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team. We’re proud to implement "discharge to access" principles alongside our Community Resource Team.

Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care
- Work collaterally with others to meet the needs of patients and their families
- Assist in the management and organisation of clinical areas
- Participate in the education, development, and supervision of other staff

Team Environment
- The team includes nursing staff, healthcare support workers (HCSW), domestics, and administrative staff

Language Expectations

Knowledge & Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- NMC registered
Desirable Criteria
- Evidence of post-registration study and training (e.g., POVA, Child Protection, Intermediate Life Support)
Experience (Essential Criteria)
- Pre-registration evidence in direct nursing care
- Experience in providing holistic nursing care
- Interest in developing nursing skills
(Desirable Criteria: Clear understanding of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and experience in palliative/terminal nursing care.)
Skills & Competencies
Essential Criteria
- Clear understanding of the contract of care
- Ability to document details clearly and accurately
- Clear understanding of the consent process
- Basic IT skills
Desirable Criteria
- Incident reporting policy knowledge
- Phlebotomy experience
- Wound care experience
Personal/Dispositional Attributes
Essential Criteria
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
Desirable Criteria
- Welsh speaker
