Broadcast Vacancy – Registered Nurse – Manvers Ward, Acute Respiratory Unit (ARU)

Manvers ward is a 33-bedded ward specialising in respiratory medicine, delivering care for patients with both acute and chronic conditions.
About the Ward
- Located in St Mary’s Hospital, part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
- 8-bedded Acute Respiratory Unit (ARU) – offers dedicated support for:
- Acute respiratory interventions (e.g., Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV))
- Tracheostomy care
- Monitoring and blood gas analysis
- Lower patient ratio (1:2 nurse-to-patient) in ARU, ideal for building acute respiratory skills
- Supported by a multi-disciplinary team ensuring high-quality patient care
About the Role
We’re seeking a committed, enthusiastic nurse to join our Manvers/ARU team, who are passionate about:

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and provide care independently for a group of patients, following evidence-based practices
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care
- Support and mentor both registered and unregistered staff in delivering patient-centred care
- Maintain accurate clinical observations, reporting and acting on any concerns
- Perform nursing procedures, including medications administration under Trust policies
- Advise on safe and timely discharge, identifying and addressing barriers
- Act as the patient’s advocate, ensuring compassionate and personalised treatment
