An exciting opportunity has arisen to employ a dynamic forward-thinking individual as a Band 5 staff nurse on Horder Ward. Horder ward is a 12-bedded Acute oncology ward caring for patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy. Horder ward also cares for palliative patients who have complex symptom control and psychological needs.
We are looking for a caring, compassionate, and competent nurse who has a special interest in palliative care. The ideal candidate is someone who works well under pressure, with excellent time management skills and is dedicated to excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
- To plan, document, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients in a responsible and efficient way, which has been drawn up in conjunction with the coordinator of the shift.
- To develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities administered within the unit.
- To develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of managing a shift with the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
