Band 6 Staff Nurse – Robert Tiffany Ward
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Band 6 Staff Nurse to join the Robert Tiffany Ward, which offers specialist facilities within a 13-bed ward and 2 surgical day areas. The role provides excellent ongoing care for patients throughout their cancer journey.
Working patterns:
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in haematology and/or oncology, or a willingness to complete chemotherapy competencies/required training with the drive and ambition to develop within this field.
- Vision and passion for high-quality patient care and strong teamwork principles.
- A positive role model with a willingness to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Coordinate and supervise shifts, ensuring effective communication & collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-led care.
- Exercise clinical judgment to assess long-term patient needs and tailor care plans accordingly.
- Actively participate in clinical trials, including patient recruitment, education, monitoring, and liaison with trial sponsors.
- Take personal accountability for nursing care delivered to patients in alignment with the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Foster a safe clinical environment for patients, visitors, and staff, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute to trust initiatives, including infection control, care quality indicators, and safeguarding best practices.
- Support continuous improvement in patient care standards through engagement in local and trust-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure consistent adherence to best practices.
- Promote a supportive working culture and help maintain high staff morale.
