Staff Nurse
Fixed-Term Secondment Opportunity: Community Hospital Nurse – 12 Month Secondment Until 31.07.27

About the Role
Mold Hospital, a busy community hospital at the heart of the local North Wales community, provides high-standard care to patients and their families while maintaining a strong focus on early discharge planning.
We champion the "home first" approach, ensuring patients access care closer to home—from admission onwards. Our multidisciplinary team fosters excellent collaborative relationships to implement "discharge to access" principles, supported by our Community Resource Team. Our wards—each accommodating 20 patients—promptly discharged patients enabling higher capacity for other residents.
We pride ourselves on nurturing staff development, offering:

Key Responsibilities
The role holder is responsible for:
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care for patients and their families in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Managing and organising clinical areas effectively, including assisting with the education, development, and supervision of other healthcare professionals
- Working alongside nursing staff, healthcare support workers (HCSW), domestics, and administrative teams to deliver outstanding patient-centered care

Essential Knowledge & Qualifications
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Desirable Criteria
- Evidence of post-registration education (e.g., POVA certification, Child Protection training, or Intermediate Life Support)
- Former pre-registration (nursing prior to qualification)
- Interest in palliative care or traumatic injury care (exemplary response advocated for hands-on treatment)
- Clinical GOV competences consistency
Experience
Essential
- Proven track record in direct nursing care (non-patient-facing roles disqualify)
- Demonstrated expertise in providing comprehensive holistic care
Desirable
- Advanced clinical governance awareness and implementation experience
- Phlebotomy abilities/technique proficiency
- Familiarity with wound management
- Senior-level specialty in palliative or terminal care

Job Skills & Competencies
Essential
- Understanding of care contracts and third-party support arrangements
- Accurate documentation of patient notes and nursing procedures
- Consent process knowledge and application
- Basic IT skills for patient care management
Desirable
- Experienced in merits, weakness, assurance, and imaging application -Awareness of PU policy and best practices and application.

Personal Attributes
Essential:
- Strong communication skills for working efficiently with diverse clinical teams
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining compassion
