Exciting times
"Exciting times" - CWP are recruiting Band 5 nurses for our 15 bedded Specialist Dementia inpatient service. We have lots of career opportunities and we are situated in the heart of Cheshire with good transport to Manchester and the Peak District. We would be happy to show you round our ward and introduce you to our team. We are looking for enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurses, with experience and newly qualified to offer preceptorship, to expand our existing team.
If you relish a challenge, are caring and compassionate and have a passion to help others, then we need people who share our values and vision to join inpatient services as Staff Nurses.
About Us
Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) are looking to develop and strengthen our existing teams in the Macclesfield area.
All wards offer a 24-hour service; therefore the successful candidates must be flexible and able to work a rotational shift pattern that includes a range of 12 hour shifts over days, nights and weekends.
You will be able to demonstrate a real enthusiasm for mental health nursing and caring for individuals with a Dementia diagnosis, as well as a desire for on-going professional development. You will receive excellent training and opportunities for development, clinical supervision and appraisal. We also offer our staff training packages, development and leadership pathways and a comprehensive preceptorship program for those who are newly qualified.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
