The Macmillan Unit (Ward G1)

The Macmillan Unit (Ward G1) is a 12 bedded inpatient ward, a chemotherapy day unit, a mobile cancer care unit, and a busy patient clinic department. We specialise in the care and treatment of patients with oncological and haematological conditions through all stages of their illness. We provide staff with many opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills, including Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT), supported by our senior nursing team and by working closely with the multidisciplinary team, including site specific Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Acute Oncology Service.

Responsibilities

Staff Nurses are responsible for the delivery of care and the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of individual programmes of care. They are expected to take delegated responsibility in a given shift for a group of patients. With experience, they may be expected to take charge of the ward/department regularly in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
