Job Description: Staff Nurse (Oncology Ward)
Cromwell Hospital, Kensington London SW5 0TU
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Fixed Term contract)
Paying: from £37,080 - £46,890 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications
Shifts: include days/nights/weekends (08:00am-20.30hrs or 20:00hrs-08:30am)

What you'll do
As an Oncology Staff Nurse, you will focus on ensuring the provision of high-quality evidence-based nursing care in a clinical setting. The Oncology Staff Nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the care they deliver.
- Provide high quality physical and psychological care with compassion
- Confidently and safely communicate patients care needs
- Have the courage to speak up and commitment to be a patient advocate
- Participate in the delivery of a consistent, safe service in all aspects of the patient journey whilst demonstrating a culture of customer service
- Manage care of allocated patients
- Demonstrate professional awareness and accountability
- Act as a Link Nurse in a designated area reporting to and from meetings / training updates
- Recognise the needs for DOL’s assessments, mental capacity assessment and ‘simple’ and ‘complex’ safeguarding referrals and highlight any concerns
- Liaise with the Support Services to ensure all non-clinical needs are met including the cultural, sexual, religious, and any other special needs of the patients
- Have a working knowledge of emergency policies including cardiac arrest and fire
- Deputise for the Senior Staff Nurse in their absence
- Undertake clinical duties in any area that is reasonably requested ensuring that you practice within your professional competencies and abilities
- Relate to the sister /Charge Nurse/Lead Nurse in regard to professional issues
- Maintain positive working relationships with all Consultants, ensuring individual Consultant protocols are utilised

What you’ll bring
- Registered General Nurse and NMC PIN required
- First level registration
- ILS certification
- Experience in similar oncology setting (desirable)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience in risk assessment
- Competent with venepuncture and wound care management
