We are looking to recruit to our school age vaccination team to support delivery of the national school programme.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential to this role.

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a registered nurse to be part of our innovative and dynamic Immunisation Team, dedicated to protecting the health of our populations across Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde and Lancaster localities through improving immunisation uptakes and delivering the school based immunisation programme, which includes the childhood flu programme.

The role will involve promoting and delivering the National Vaccination Programme across schools, nurseries and in the community.

Gaining telephone consents from parents for their child's vaccinations.

Requirements

Applicants should have, and be able to demonstrate, good communication and organisational skills along with good IT skills and the ability to work well within a team and independently.

Work Environment

Please note that these roles involve working at base and in schools and community sessions across the Trust footprint supporting the immunisation team, therefore flexibility and an ability to travel are essential requirements of this post. The Trust footprint covers Morecambe Bay and the Fylde Coast.

Job Details

The post is based at St Annes Primary Care Centre but the role will involve travelling to schools and clinics across the whole footprint.

This post is offered on a 7‑month fixed‑term contract with annualised hours. To meet increased service demand during the flu season, the post holder will be required to work higher weekly hours during the first 12 weeks of the contract. For the remainder of the contract, weekly hours will reduce in line with ongoing service requirements. Hours will be planned in advance in accordance with service needs.
