Staff Nurse – Women’s Health / Surgical / Gynaecology

The Portland Hospital
Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
- 11.5-hour shifts between 07:45–20:15 or 20:15–07:45
- 3 or 4-day rota (including weekends and nights)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Nurse to join our Women’s Health and Gynaecology team at The Portland Hospital, a highly specialised centre dedicated to exceptional care in women’s health, surgery, and early pregnancy services.
The Ward & Environment
- Supports both inpatients and outpatients (caring for up to 16 patients daily across 11 rooms)
- Delivers compassionate care to patients with complex pregnancy-related conditions
- A dynamic and rewarding clinical environment
What You’ll Do
- Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality patient care
- Work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to every patient
- Develop clinical expertise in gynaecology and early pregnancy care
- Work closely with leading Consultants and experienced colleagues
- Receive structured training (ward and outpatient settings) and access to external development programmes (e.g., King’s College and the Florence Nightingale Foundation)

What You’ll Bring
Essential
- RGN qualification with current NMC registration
- 2+ years’ post-registration experience
- Experience working in a surgical ward (essential)
Desirable
- Experience in women’s health or gynaecology settings
