Staff Product Designer (12-Month FTC)
Staff Product Designer
Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drive everything we do.
Our Product team defines how millions of people experience Deliveroo, turning complex marketplace challenges into simple, high-impact solutions.
Working at the intersection of data, design, and engineering, we set direction, prioritise what matters most, and deliver outcomes that move the business forward.
We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our London team. In this role, you will lead the design strategy for critical product areas, influencing the long-term vision of our platform and driving architectural improvements that ripple across the entire Deliveroo ecosystem.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the Studio team. While your primary focus will be dedicated to the Deliveroo product, you will be part of a global design community that includes talented designers from Deliveroo, Wolt, and DoorDash. At the Staff level, you will play a pivotal role in this community, mentoring senior talent and setting the standard for design excellence globally.
Key Responsibilities
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
- Define the product design strategy for high-level, ambiguous business challenges, ensuring alignment between user needs and long-term commercial goals.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to drive architectural decisions and platform-wide design standards.
- Champion a culture of design excellence by mentoring senior designers and fostering high-quality craft across the organisation.
- Identify and tackle systemic design opportunities that improve performance, accessibility, and user satisfaction at scale.
- Act as a bridge between functions, leveraging influence to align cross-functional teams around a unified product vision.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
