I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You’ll Actually Do
Own the 1-to-100
- Work directly with customers to identify pain points and iterate rapidly based on feedback.
- Place AI at the core of the product, enabling intuitive automation where agents previously performed manual tasks.
- Boost Depth: Enhance integrations, streamline enrollment flows, and elevate the global experience for employees and companies managing benefits.
- Collaborate with Ops, Sales, and GTM to ensure seamless scalable adoption.
- Make rigorous prioritization decisions with high commercial impact and global scope.
Own the 0-to-1
- Define and launch an MVP for a new benefits product within 3 months.
- Conduct targeted, structured discovery and clearly articulate business value before execution.
- Leverage existing infrastructure where possible to accelerate launch.
Operate as a High-Agency, Technically Credible PM
- Proficient in technical conversations with engineering leads—not as an engineer, but as a product leader who understands the constraints and speaks the language of development.
- Utilise AI daily—not aspirationally, but actively for workflow optimization.
- Manage constant trade-offs, with a CEO deeply engaged in product decisions and set to provide both mentorship and direct oversight.
Requirements: What You’ll Bring
Non-negotiable:
- Proven 0-to-1 experience: ability to fully ideate, launch, and execute a product—from drafting assumptions to scaling’s first sales or customer interactions.
- Sharp product intuition: significant shipping experience with evidence-backed instincts on product excellence.
- Experienced with AI: actively build AI-integrated products and integrate AI tools into daily workflows today—not theoretical or aspirationally.
- Technical credibility: able to hold peer-level conversation with engineers about APIs, integrations, and data models.
- Independent agency: thrive without structure or a finished product roadmap. You shape direction, not execute it.
Strongly valued:
- B2B SaaS background: experience managing multiple teams and owning each facet of the pipeline from discovery to execution.
- Multi-country product experience: appreciation for global compliance as a product challenge—not just a legal hurdle.
- 7+ years in Product Management: with difficultly matched impact.
- Fintech/payments/embedded finance experience: confidence building transaction-heavy or financially complex products.

Not on our Radar:
- Benefits industry experience as a substitute for product-design craft.
- Candidates willing to wait for full direction before contributing.
- Elective “delivery-centric” PMs missing strong product intuition.
How Deel Operates: What You’re Walking Into
