Staff RF IC Design Engineer - CMOS / Cadence
Our client is a global technology company with a highly experienced RF team working on next generation 6G cellular RF products in advanced CMOS processes. They are looking for a Staff level RF IC Design Engineer to join their HQ in Cambridge working 100% onsite.
What you will be doing
- Specifying, architecting, designing, implementing and verifying complete sub-systems for 6G RF ICs
- Developing innovative signal path and synthesizer designs with leading edge performance and strong first silicon results
- Working closely with RF system and application engineers to help define specifications
- Providing effective supervision of layout implementation for complex RF systems-on-chip

What we are looking for
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree, or PhD, in a closely related field
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
- A proven track record of delivering high performance CMOS RF transceivers to mass production
- Strong knowledge of RF system analysis
- Experience designing in advanced CMOS technologies (16nm or below)
- Strong analytical skills and a solid grasp of the integration challenges of complex RF SoCs
- Expertise in RF IC layout optimisation in advanced CMOS technologies
- An innovative, hands-on approach to technical problem solving
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when needed
- Effective communication across different time zones and cultures
- Strong time management and organisational skills

Nice to have
- Experience with Cadence Analog Design Environment
- Experience with EM simulation tools
- A good understanding of RF performance requirements for cellular systems
- Competence in data analysis using Matlab and/or Python
