# Staff Site Reliability Engineer Location: Manchester Posting Dates: 02/07/2026 – 09/07/2026 Salary: Competitive

Product Engineering at JLR is driven by innovation and creativity, encompassing cutting-edge systems like advanced driver assistance and electric propulsion. Join a team of industry experts shaping the future of motoring, fostering product strategy, performance analysis, and transformation—where exceptional careers are built.

About the Role

Joining JLR’s digital engineering hub in Manchester is an opportunity to transform connected car and data platforms. As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll:

  • Solve complex engineering challenges—building resilient, cloud-native systems and elevating engineering standards.
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS + Kubernetes).
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines for agile, high-quality software delivery.
  • Lead hands-on SRE practices across build, test, and deployment.
  • Ensure systems meet industry benchmarks for scalability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive technical problem-solving for cloud infrastructure, software delivery, and SRE best practices.
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain AWS-based platform services (e.g., Kubernetes clusters, serverless tools).
  • Optimise CI/CD workflows with Terraform and AWS-native tools like Lambdas, S3, and API Gateway.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to suppress bottlenecks and improve system reliability.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in observability, logging, and monitoring stack (e.g., Prometheus, CloudWatch).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
