Staff Software Engineer
High-Growth YC-Backed Startup | Positive Impact | Full-Time
We’re working with a fast-growing, YC-backed technology company building products with meaningful real-world impact. They’ve reached strong early traction and are now looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help scale both the platform and engineering organisation through the next phase of growth.
This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven business without compromising on technical ambition. You’ll work on difficult engineering challenges, influence architecture and product direction, and help shape how the team builds as they continue to grow. They’re looking for someone who combines strong technical depth with a pragmatic, product-oriented mindset.

- Leading the design and delivery of scalable, reliable systems across the platform
- Driving architectural decisions and improving engineering standards
- Partnering closely with product, design, and leadership to turn ideas into shipped outcomes
- Mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across the team
- Identifying opportunities to improve performance, developer experience, and scalability
- Helping define technical strategy during a period of rapid growth
What They’re Looking For
- Strong experience building and operating production software at scale
- Track record of technical leadership and delivering complex projects end-to-end
- Experience working in high-growth startups or leading technology environments
- Strong systems thinking and pragmatic decision-making
- Ability to balance execution speed with long-term technical quality
- Excitement for working in a mission-led environment with ambitious goals
