Staff Writer and Editorial Lead
ScaleMath is hiring a Staff Writer and Editorial Lead to work directly with the founder and help drive high-leverage initiatives across the business.
This is not a traditional "writing-only" role. You’ll be involved in content and editorial work, but you’ll also jump into partnerships, sales support, client calls, messaging, positioning, internal projects, and whatever else the business needs. The common thread is: you’re a high-judgment operator who can own work end-to-end and ship high-quality outcomes.
This role exists because our current internal “right hand” is becoming a bottleneck. We need someone with the same level of written English ability and attention to detail to share the load and help ScaleMath move faster without lowering standards.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who fits the following criteria:
- Strategic + hands-on – able to set direction and execute, owning initiatives end-to-end with real accountability
- Exceptional attention to detail – holds a high precision bar and catches issues others miss
- Elite written communicator – writes clearly, confidently, and with strong structure and flow
- High-level copywriter / “sentence designer” – strong at line-level writing: clarity, rhythm, persuasion, and restraint
- Quality bar setter – elevates the standard for what “good” looks like across content and messaging
- Strong editorial judgment – knows what to cut, what to keep, what to emphasize, and what will confuse the reader
- Execution-first mindset – reliably ships finished work, not just drafts, outlines, or ideas
- Brand voice steward – maintains consistency of tone, positioning, and messaging across channels
- Trusted internal reviewer – improves others’ work through thoughtful critique, rewrites, and refinement

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
