Senior Technical Operator / Measurer — Curved & High-End Staircases
Are you a skilled joiner, cabinet maker, or staircase craftsman with a passion for precision and an eye for high-end design? Do you enjoy a mix of hands-on site work, technical specification, and customer-facing conversations at the premium end of the market?
We're working with a well-established staircase manufacturer, expanding into curved staircases and high-end hardwood work, alongside their traditional range. Due to this growth into a higher-end market, they're looking for a Senior Technical Operator / Measurer to raise our technical standard and help lead this next chapter.
What You'll Be Doing:
Site Surveys & Design:
- Visiting residential and high-spec project sites across London and the Southeast
- Taking detailed measurements and designing staircases on-site, including curved and bespoke configurations
- Liaising directly with clients, builders, and site crews to ensure technical accuracy
- Producing designs and specifications to a premium standard, balancing client vision with engineering requirements
- Raising the existing team’s technical standard and providing backup capacity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Curved staircases or curved handrail experience is a strong advantage - we're especially keen to hear from candidates with this background
