Stakeholder Advisor – Infrastructure Team (Water Infrastructure Project with United Utilities)

Murphy is recruiting for a Stakeholder Advisor to join our rapidly growing Infrastructure team, delivering a major water infrastructure project as part of United Utilities’ AMP8 programme.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

As a Stakeholder Advisor, you will:

  • Support stakeholder analysis to ensure drivers, requirements, and influences are understood and incorporated throughout the project.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Stakeholder Manager to develop and maintain:
    • Stakeholder Engagement Plans (aligned with the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy)
    • Consents and approval processes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including:
    • External parties: Client, local authorities, statutory/non-statutory bodies (e.g., environment/technical organisations), industry/businesses, land & property holders
    • Communities & third-party consultants (coordinating with Murphy and client-appointed consultants for a joined-up approach)
  • Manage stakeholder communications:
    • Undertake mappings and prepare problem-solving communications
    • Respond to enquiries and escalations
  • Collaborate with the project and technical teams:
    • Attend meetings with stakeholders, brief technical teams, and ensure feedback is followed up within agreed timescales.
    • Maintain an accurate audit trail of all stakeholder engagements, recorded in the database.
  • Present weekly progress updates and support bid/tender development.
  • Lead alignment with Murphy’s Social Value Development Plan, tracking targets and initiatives.
  • Assist in employee volunteer initiatives, working towards agreed client/company targets.

Experience & Expertise

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Direct experience working on bids, tenders, and contracts in construction/engineering sectors.
  • A proven track record of building and managing relationships with external/internal stakeholders.
  • Water-sector experience (desirable).
  • Attention to detail with an ethos of "right first time".
  • Strong organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full European driving licence (required for travel and overnight stays).
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
