About the Role
This position is for an out of hours ADR standby / reserve driver. The HGV/ADR Driver is required to operate any Company vehicle for which they are suitably qualified to undertake. As the duties of this post constitute those of a professional driver, all operation of Company vehicles must be undertaken in a safe manner and fully compliant with all relevant law and legislation. In addition, the driver will undertake duties associated with that of an operator.
- Operating Company vehicles including ADR HGV class 1 & 2 vehicles or any other vehicle for which the HGV driver is suitably qualified to operate and full responsibility for ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken prior to commencing any works.
- Compliance with tachograph regulations and reporting in the required manner.
- Reporting any vehicle defects to supervision as soon as identified. The HGV Driver will be required to complete vehicle defect reports.
- Training: Complete any required training such as UKPIA, PDP and any required safety qualifications.
- ADR Compliance: Ensuring all ADR vehicles display appropriate placards during transportation and any time stationary. The HGV Driver holds full responsibility for ensuring they are in possession of the correct written instruction document referring to the materials being transported. (TREM card).
- Health and Safety: Ensure all uplifting and offloading of product and materials are undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices ensuring correct PPE worn for the task.
- Customer Liaison: Liaison with customers on site to discuss ongoing works and further services of the Company.
- Documentation: Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to divisional supervision.
- Supervision Liaison: Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
- Customer Interaction: Polite and approachable at customer sites.
- Team Support: Aiding and supporting the team where needed.
- Independence: Must be confident and able to carry out lone working using initiative; particularly on the basis that the role is standby requiring much of the work to be outside of regular business hours.
- Additional Duties: Any other duties for which the HGV Driver is qualified for and capable of undertaking.

Qualifications
About You
- Must possess relevant licence categories to operate and control HGV/ADR including tanks, vehicles, both rigid and articulated vehicles.
- Tanker experience including hose reel deliveries.
- Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation.
- Knowledge of tachograph regulations.
- Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
- Confident and skilled with tanks and tanker systems.
- Flexible with working hours.
