Starbucks Assistant Store Manager: The Heart of the Operation
Let's be totally honest. Running a high-volume Starbucks inside a bustling hotel is a different beast. If you want to hide in a back office staring at spreadsheets while the milk boils over, look away now. We need an Assistant Store Manager who leads from the front, understands the commercial numbers, and keeps the team smiling during a massive morning rush.
At Village, we partner with Starbucks to create high-energy spaces. We need someone who blends that iconic Starbucks culture with our signature Village warmth. You are the Store Manager's crucial co-pilot, driving serious profitability and people development.
The Reality of the Role
This is where operational grit meets people development. You will forecast labor, tackle the rota, and analyse data to drive commercial performance. But you will also be right there on the floor, coaching a new barista, handling customer hiccups flawlessly, and ensuring the coffee is perfect. Hospitality is fast-paced, so you will need to be flexible with early starts, evenings, and weekends.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
