BARISTA / STARBUCKS AT THE READ HOUSE

Step into a world where timeless elegance meets modern comfort. As a Barista, you are responsible for providing guests with courteous, friendly, sincere, and efficient service that consistently exceeds expectations.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Position part-time, less than 30 hours per week.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Warm Welcomes: Provide an engaging first impression and deliver attentive, courteous service to all guests.
  • Expert Craftsmanship: Master all menu items and prepare food and drink orders efficiently to impeccable Starbucks standards.
  • Seamless Service: Answer phones professionally, collect payments, issue correct change, and abide by all cash handling procedures.
  • Pristine Spaces: Maintain the daily operations of the café, including executing Starbucks "clean play" responsibilities and general cleaning (wiping tables, sweeping, mopping, and breaking down boxes).
  • Impeccable Standards: Strictly adhere to all health code regulations, food handling guidelines, and sanitation standards while keeping inventory beautifully restocked.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Experience: Prior cash handling experience is required. A high school diploma (or equivalent), customer service experience, and previous coffee shop experience are highly preferred.
  • Grace Under Pressure: The ability to multitask efficiently with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Team Spirit: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with guests, management, and fellow team members.
  • Flexibility: Punctual and reliable on-site attendance, with the availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as our vibrant business requires.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to position yourself to clean and restock, regularly lift or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Equipment Mastery: Comfort operating restaurant POS systems, espresso machines, blenders, ovens, toasters, and essential cleaning tools.
  • Environment: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment featuring high guest contact, varying temperatures, and low-to-moderate noise levels.
