Start Your Own Legal Business with DSW Legal

Location: Flexible / UK-wide

About the opportunity

You’ve built a successful legal career. You have strong client relationships, an established reputation and a clear vision for how you would like to serve your clients.

Perhaps you’ve considered starting your own firm but have been put off by the risks, regulatory requirements and operational burden that come with building a business from scratch.

At DSW Legal, we believe there is a better way.

As part of Dow Schofield Watts’ Legal Division, we are offering an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurial legal teams to launch their own legal practice with the support, infrastructure and backing of an established national professional services group.

Our Breakout Incentive is designed for teams of 3 or more who want greater autonomy, stronger alignment between effort and reward, and the opportunity to build their own business.

Rather than navigating the complexities of starting a law firm alone, you’ll benefit from a proven platform that provides the operational, regulatory and commercial support needed to help you succeed from day one.

In addition, you may be eligible for a break-out incentive of up to £50,000 per team member, together with start-up working capital funding, providing a strong financial foundation as you establish your new business.

Whether you’re looking to launch a specialist practice, build a team around an existing client base, or create a long-term succession plan for your future, we’ll provide the framework, guidance and support to help you achieve your ambitions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
