Role Overview
This Static Electrical Engineer role will require you to work within the Cambridge Maintenance team across locations in Hendon, Walthamstow, and London. You will be responsible for:
- Fault diagnosis and rectification on various electrical systems within commercial installations.
- Undertaking Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works daily.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure maintenance, servicing, and repair works are conducted in accordance with Cambridge Maintenance policies and current relevant legislation.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients, suppliers, and colleagues to foster excellent professional relationships and streamline business operations.
- Organise works efficiently, manage time allocation, and collaborate supportively within the team.
- Complete site logs and diaries daily to track progress.
- Submit detailed, accurate task sheets and reports (including photos) with clear recommendations for further work, in alignment with daily operations.
- Undertake basic plumbing/mechanical works where required.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge
The successful candidate should possess knowledge of:
- Electrical installation works in commercial properties.
- Fault-finding for electrical equipment in commercial settings.
- Basic fault diagnosis and rectification of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Emergency light annual test procedures.
- DALI lighting control systems.
- BMS (Building Management Systems) control wiring and fault-finding processes.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:

- City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Full Earth Electrical Installation Apprenticeship (City & Guilds 2330 AM2 and NVQ fabrications and installation qualification).
- Desirable (but preferred):
- JIB registered electorscheme.
- IPAF mobile access license (MEWPS).
- PASMA (Mobile Tower Group Tower) certification.
Personal Qualities & Skills
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with IT systems and software.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Interest/understanding of Facilities Management (FM) practices and trends.
- PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) usage experience.
- Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivation and independence.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team, making judged assessments of technical failures.
