Static Electrician
Equans is looking for a Static Electrician based on site at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young people, Edinburgh. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 48 hours per week, based on a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off between the hours of 7am and 7pm. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Specialized Healthcare Technical Memorandums (SHTMs), Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will demonstrate competency at Level 3 in theory and practice or hold an equivalent relevant electrical qualification or advanced apprenticeship.
You may also provide general supervision to Craft or Operative Maintenance Assistants or serve as a Shift Lead Line Manager, overseeing a small team.
What will you deliver?
Demonstrate and apply Level 3 electrical competency or equivalent advanced apprenticeship in a relevant discipline. Progress towards an M&E Technician role by gaining workplace experience and undertaking CP training in high-risk disciplines. Adhere to Company Policies, ARTS Values, and health and safety regulations, including HASAW, RAMS, and codes of safe working practices. Perform installations and protection of industrial and commercial electrical systems with effective resource planning and prioritization. Solve non-routine problems independently, offering practical and innovative solutions. Participate in personal development activities and support the learning of others through guidance. Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Preventative Maintenance (RPM) tasks via Maximo or similar systems. Ensure timely sign-off and resolution of tasks with escalation to M&E Leads as required. Maintain clear, professional communication with colleagues and stakeholders, adapting style as needed. Demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities and maintain composure under pressure. Uphold quality assurance standards, ensuring work complies with requirements and is completed thoroughly. Embrace change and challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement. Exercise sound judgment in decision-making, escalating appropriately and involving stakeholders early. Innovate by thinking laterally, proposing solutions, and fostering collaboration. Effectively plan and prioritize workloads, negotiating realistic deadlines and monitoring quality and progress.

Who are we looking for?
Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience as an Electrical Craftsperson or similar role in a healthcare environment. Understanding of SHTMs, PPMs, and SLAs related to electrical systems. Competency at level 3 in theory and practice or equivalent in a relevant Electrical discipline. Familiarity with Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) requirements and risk assessment processes. Knowledge of RAMS and codes of safe working. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Organizational and time management skills. This role includes a Disclosure Scotland to PVG Level therefore ability to pass is essential.
