Location: Birmingham Airport
Hours: Full time, Mon - Fri, 40 hours per week
Pay: £50K to 53K per annum (depending on experience)
Are you looking for a new and exciting role? Join our team at Birmingham Airport as a Station Manager, playing a crucial role who is responsible for the overall operational, commercial and people performance of the Birmingham Airport Assisted Travel operation. They will provide visible leadership across the operation, ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional service, contractual compliance, operational resilience and outstanding customer experience.
About The Role
As a Station Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading all Assisted Travel activities over the entire operation, to incorporate both landside, airside and the ramp activities associated with this important operation within the airport.
- Own operational performance across the station, ensuring consistent achievement of all contractual KPIs, SLAs and customer expectations.
- Provide visible leadership across the operation, maintaining high standards of operational control, governance and accountability at all times.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing processes, identifying efficiencies and implementing sustainable service improvements year-on-year.
- Lead structured root cause analysis following operational failures, customer complaints or KPI underperformance, ensuring lessons learned are embedded and issues do not reoccur.
- Use operational intelligence, audits and trend analysis to identify emerging risks and implement preventative action plans.
- Develop a highly engaged workforce through visible leadership, colleague engagement, recognition, wellbeing initiatives and career development opportunities, making Birmingham a great place to work.
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with Birmingham Airport, airlines, ground handlers, the CAA and all other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with ECAC and all regulatory requirements of the service, company policies, health & safety legislation and all contractual obligations.
- Ensure operational governance information is accurate, timely and translated into meaningful actions that improve performance.

What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable experience leading large, customer-facing operational teams.
- Proven track record of delivering consistent operational performance and service excellence.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach and hold teams accountable.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement programmes and operational change.
- Excellent analytical skills including root cause analysis and performance improvement methodologies.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and productivity.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of PRM legislation, ECAC requirements and aviation operations
- IT and data analysis skills.
