Statistical Programmer II – ICON PLLC

About the Role
ICON is seeking a Statistical Programmer II to join their diverse and dynamic team. In this position, you will develop, validate, and execute statistical programs supporting clinical trial analysis and real-world evidence (RWE) studies, contributing to the accurate interpretation of critical data for successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
Key accountabilities include:
- Developing, validating, and maintaining complex statistical programs (primarily SAS), with support in R or Python, for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting across clinical trials and RWE studies.
- Potentially helping lead a Statistical Programming team to create, validate, and generate statistical programs for listings, tables, figures, and SDTM/ADaM domains, including mapping specifications (low to moderate complexity).
- Ensuring accurate, complete, and high-quality outputs in compliance with documented procedures and project timelines.
- Collaborating with biostatisticians and cross-functional teams to translate study requirements into precise statistical analyses.
- Reviewing statistical analysis plans (SAPs), programming specifications, and derived datasets, including SDTM and ADaM structures, to meet regulatory standards.
- Ensuring data integrity through adherence to ICH/GCP guidelines throughout the programming process.
- Mentoring junior programmers and assisting in training team members on programming techniques, best practices, and regulatory expectations.

Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).
Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of experience as a statistical programmer in the clinical research industry, with expertise in statistical methodologies and SAS programming.
- Proven ability to work with SDTM/ADaM datasets and best practices.
- Experience with real-world evidence (RWE) studies is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in SAS, R, or Python, with familiarity with clinical data management systems.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, deliver on timelines, and manage multiple projects.
Communication
- Excellent abilities to communicate complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with team members.
Additional Considerations
- Experience working in regulatory or biotechnology markets is advantageous.
