Statutory SEND Services Coordinator Suffolk County Council
Location: Hybrid working (Ipswich IP1 2BX, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3YU or Lowestoft NR33 0EQ) Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata for part-time) Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible options available) Contract: Permanent

About the Role
As a Statutory SEND Services Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in championing the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This position involves liaising with families, schools, health professionals, and colleagues across Suffolk County Council to:
- Ensure compliance with statutory SEND processes (e.g., Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans).
- Make decisions that directly impact education, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes for young people.
- Foster a culture where children’s voices are central in all decisions.

Primary Responsibilities
You will coordinate and execute key statutory duties, including:
Core Coordinating Tasks
- Manage EHC Annual Reviews, adhering to statutory deadlines and ensuring thoroughness.
- Maintain a complex caseload, balancing competing priorities with strong professional judgment.
Professional Engagement
- Serve as a link professional for families, cultivating trusting relationships and delivering clear, empathetic support.
- Champion children’s and young people’s views in all decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with:
- Schools and settings
- Health professionals
- Social care teams
- Partner agencies
Safeguarding & Risk Management
- Assess and mitigate risk while upholding safeguarding protocols.
