We are currently recruiting an experienced Steel Fixer to join our production team at our Skelmersdale site. This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled individual with experience working with reinforcement steel in a precast or construction environment.
Hours: 7am - 5pm - Monday to Friday.
Weekly Pay on PAYE + Benefits
Interviews will be held on site. You must have the right to work in the UK.
Location: Skelmerdale
Key Responsibilities of a Steel Fixer
- Cut, bend, and fix reinforcement steel (rebar and mesh) in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and reinforcement schedules accurately.
- Assemble steel cages and reinforcement frameworks for precast concrete units.
- Secure steel using tying wire, clips, and other fixing methods.
- Work safely around cranes, lifting equipment, and heavy materials.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area at all times.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and production teams to meet daily targets and deadlines.

Key Requirements of a Steel Fixer

- Previous experience as a Steel Fixer within construction or precast concrete is essential.
- Ability to read and understand reinforcement drawings.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools relevant to steel fixing.
- Good awareness of manual handling and safe lifting practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
