About the Job
Stem for Kids provides hands-on STEM, robotics, and coding education for children aged 5–14. Our sessions are designed to help students develop problem-solving skills, creativity, confidence, and technical understanding through structured, practical learning.
We run small-group classes, workshops, after-school sessions, and holiday camps, using robotics, coding, engineering challenges, and guided build projects to make STEM engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for children at different levels of ability.
Job Overview
We are seeking reliable, confident, and enthusiastic STEM & Robotics Instructors to join our team in Buckhurst Hill.
No prior robotics or coding experience is required, as training and lesson guidance will be provided. However, experience in tutoring, teaching, childcare, mentoring, after-school clubs, holiday camps, or previous work with children will be helpful.
This role may suit A-Level students, university students, tutors, teaching assistants, aspiring teachers, engineering students, computer science students, or anyone with a strong interest in STEM education and working with children.
Key Responsibilities
- To support the aims and values of Stem for Kids at all times.
- To assist in delivering high-quality STEM, robotics, and coding sessions for children aged 5–14.
- To help students follow lesson instructions, complete builds, and engage positively with practical tasks.
- To encourage curiosity, problem-solving, teamwork, and independent thinking.
- To support small groups of students during lessons, workshops, and holiday camp sessions.
- To help maintain a safe, organized, and focused learning environment.
- To communicate professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
- To follow safeguarding, behavior, and health and safety procedures at all times.

Instructors will be expected to:
- Support students with robotics, coding, engineering, and STEM-based activities.
- Follow structured lesson plans and guidance provided by Stem for Kids.
- Assist students with builds, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving.
- Encourage students to stay engaged, focused, and confident.
- Adapt support according to each child’s age, ability, and level of experience.
- Help prepare and organize lesson materials, kits, and equipment.
Candidates Profile
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Confident communicating with children.
- Patient, encouraging, and organized.
- Comfortable supporting small groups.
- Interested in STEM, robotics, coding, engineering, education, or child development.
- Able to create a positive and focused learning environment.
- Willing to learn and follow structured training.

Prior experience is not essential, but the following would be helpful:
- Tutoring experience.
- Teaching or classroom support experience.
- Childcare/youth work/Holiday camp/ after-school club experience.
- A background or interest in engineering, computer science, robotics, coding, or STEM education.

- Role: Part-time STEM / Robotics Instructor
- Hours: Weekday, weekend, and holiday camp sessions available
- Training: Full training provided
