Sterile Services Technician I
A Career As A Sterile Services Technician With STERIS Instrument Processing
How You Will Make A Difference
About Us
At STERIS Instrument Processing, we are experts in surgical instrument sterilisation. We provide on-and offsite re-processing solutions, alongside reliable instrument maintenance, ensuring the highest infection prevention standards for our NHS and private hospital customers.
We are now recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician—an entry-level role with world-class on-the-job training and a defined career pathway if you have expertise (or enthusiasm for learning!).
Why It Matters
Do you want a job where every shift helps keep patients safe? Do you care about supporting the National Health Service (NHS) and making a tangible difference in healthcare? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
Role Overview
Training & Working Pattern
✅ 12-week structured training programme ✅ Initial weeks: Mon–Fri, 9 AM–5 PM (during first few weeks) ✅ After training: Permanent shift hours (37.5 hours/week) ⏰ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6 PM–2 AM
Why unsociable hours? Because find-to-infection control doesn’t stop—and neither do we. But we offset it with: 💰 Overtime/unsociable hour allowances 💰 Higher cost-of-living pay (London locations)
Key Responsibilities
As a Sterile Services Technician, you’ll: ✔️ Sterilise & decontaminate surgical instruments (washed, inspected, assembled, and packed per strict contracts, ensuring reuse is safe for the next patient). ✔️ Monitor & operate essential equipment—autoclaves, washer-disinfector machines, ultrasonic cleaners etc.—ensuring sterile, infection-free standards. ✔️ Record repairs & traceability using SynergyTrak (our in-house tracking and traceability IT system) to log missing parts, equipment, and repairs. ✔️ Document everything accurately—even the smallest discrepancy could impact patient safety. ✔️ Pack and restock instruments & consumables (sterile dressings, linen, equipment) efficiently and meticulously.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
