About the Role
Join Freebridge Community Housing in our exciting new role as a Stock Condition Surveyor (Home Quality Assessor), where you’ll play a critical part in shaping the future of our housing stock. Using your surveying expertise, you’ll assess the condition of our homes, create detailed reports, and help ensure our properties meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and comfort for our customers.

Freebridge Community Housing was established in 2006, initially taking on the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock—now expanding to over 7,500 properties across West and North Norfolk. Our ambitions include:

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and compile detailed property stock condition survey programmes in collaboration with the Asset Information & Data Manager.
- Conduct scheduled surveys to update stock condition and HHSRS (Housing Health and Safety Rating System) data, providing clear improvements recommendations.
- Identify defects during surveys that breach statutory/regulatory standards and propose remedial actions, prioritising urgency where necessary.
- Carry out intrinsic damp, mould, and condensation surveys, conducting root cause analysis and rectification recommendations in line with Awaab’s Law timeframes.
- Ensure defective elements are flagged for action and monitor resolution of both temporary and permanent works to meet specified timelines.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in on-site stock condition surveys and HHSRS assessments.
- Proven expertise in Decent Homes methodology—including component-based survey data collection.
- Broad awareness of statutory, regulatory, and industry standards, including Decent Homes Standard and HHSRS.
- Deep understanding of building pathology, with ability to diagnose damp, mould, and condensation issues and provide evidenced remediation recommendations.
- A UK driving licence and full access to your own private vehicle.
