Stock Controller
Stock Controller (Temporary – 6 Months)
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stock Controller to oversee and maintain accurate inventory levels across our warehouse and store operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking stock movements, conducting inventory checks, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring products are available as needed—while minimising losses, overstocking, and disruptions.
This is a temporary role (6 months), offering aquement with Engineering, Procurement, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Tracking
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of stock levels.
- Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.

Stock Logistics & Compliance
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries.
- Track stock movements, including transfers, returns, and adjustments.
- Organise and secure stock to prevent damage or loss.
- Ensure safety and compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards.

ERP & Collaboration
- Work with the Engineering department to translate requirements into ERP system entries.
- Support the Procurement team with day-to-day tasks.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast stock needs.

Reporting & Support
- Prepare inventory and stock reports for management.
- Assist in audits and stock reconciliation processes.
- Maintain alignment with company policies and global standards.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Simple background in stock control, inventory management, warehouse operations**, purchasing, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in recordings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- Analytical and numerical aptitude.
- Independent problem-solving ability alongside teamwork skills.

Qualifications Preferred
- Forklift licence (desirable, if applicable).
- GCSE-equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
- Preference given to candidates with prior experience or warehouse/inventory certifications (not essential).
