Stock Controller
Part of Bunzl plc, a FTSE 100 company, Bunzl McLaughlin is leading supplier of non-food catering and cleaning supplies to businesses across Ireland. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Stock Controller to join our team.
The purpose of the role is to well-execute and optimise the warehouse layout design. To provide easy access to stored goods, minimise travel time, and improve order fulfilment rates. Additionally, dealing with all new product as well as removing all dead stock.
We provide a thorough induction programme, buddy system and comprehensive on the job training in order to give you the best possible opportunity to succeed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To Maintain Replen records
- Run monthly Heat maps
- Maintain/improve replen per 100 rate
- Remove non moving lines from pick walk
- Maintain locations/zones in WMS
- Introduce and maintain Heavy to light where possible
- To optimise core list product placement
- To introduce/replace warehouse dividers
- To maintain product data integrity
- To capture TI-HI information on products
- To review Temppick and specials drops and slot accordingly
- To ensure pick walk meets H&S standards
- To have weekly meetings with ops TL to provide feedback to the team and to listen to suggestions
- To liaise with the category team on forecasts and new products etc.
Operational efficiency
- Achieve and Sustain a High Level of Stock Accuracy and Stock Control in line with agreed Bunzl KPI’s and company objectives.
- Control and report shrinkage to relevant buyers in conjunction with Goods In/Goods Out
- Assist with managing £3m Inventory
- Assist with compiling and controlling all stock adjustments across the business
- Identify operational inefficiencies in relation to stock, compiling solutions in collaboration with the Operations Team
- Collaboration with Goods In & Inventory Teams to ensure optimal efficiencies in relation to Goods In
- Assist in achieving Company targets around returns and credits (both customer and supplier)
- Collaboration with Goods Out Manager to ensure picking accuracy targets are exceeded, identifying areas requiring additional focus / training
- Compilation of ad hoc operational and stock reports as requested
- Assist with Implementation of a cyclical counting routine investigating thoroughly and bringing any issues identified to a close in a timely fashion
- Deal with all stock enquiries from Customer Services and conduct stock checks accordingly
- Assist with the management of old and obsolete stock out of the business in conjunction with Inventory and Customer Services.
- Communication of stock holding issues to relevant parties

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills
- Computer Literate with Sound Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and a high level of proficiency in using e-mail.
- Working Snap knowledge
- Working knowledge around maintaining, adding and removing replen records
- To monitor and control product placement by use of the class within Snap.
- Set up of the walk sequence within the bays and locations in Snap
- Master data site – location screens (creation & deletion)
- Management of sortation records (specials/pick)
- Master data – Product screens (Hazard codes & Pallet configs)
- Interface errors for products
- Experienced in Stock Control & Warehouse Operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Essential, Reach Truck Forklift & Man Up Truck Licence.
