Role Description

In this role you will work as part of our internal office team.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Responsible for predominantly purchasing stock for the branch
  • Take overall responsibility for stock control of the branch
  • Ensure that the right goods are in stock to satisfy customer demand
  • Ensure all stock has the right location
  • Make sure any problems/queries are dealt with efficiently to reduce issues with goods received
  • Managing aged stock/ returns and damaged stock
  • Operate our trade sales counter, providing excellent customer service

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience of effective buying and stock control is essential
  • Builders merchant industry experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy – especially with Excel spreadsheets
  • High level of numeracy
  • Logical, methodical and accurate approach to work
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate stock and prices with suppliers with confidence and product knowledge
