Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Storage and Backup?
Sopra Steria’s Aerospace Defence and Security sector are currently recruiting for a Storage and Backup Engineer with experience in the administration of NetApp Storage and Veeam backup. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with some level of existing experience in NetApp and Veeam looking to develop their skills and become a technical expert. This role sits within a group level account putting you in the best place to progress.
Ideally you would be based local to Newport as there is an expectation you will be in the office 4 days per week.
Due to the nature of the project, we are only able to progress with candidates that are eligible for SC clearance.
What you’ll be doing: Deploy, configure, and administer NetApp ONTAP devices and clusters, including AFF, FAS, and E‑Series platforms. Manage NAS/SAN provisioning, LUN creation, NFS/SMB shares, and storage virtual machines (SVMs). Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and storage optimisation. Administer Veeam Backup & Replication, including job design, scheduling, retention, and repository management. Integrate Veeam with NetApp storage for snapshot-based backups and rapid recovery workflows. What you’ll bring: Experience with the Deployment, configuration, and administration of NetApp ONTAP devices Knowledge of NAS/SAN provisioning, LUN creation, NFS/SMB shares, and storage virtual machines (SVMs). Veeam Backup & Replication administration experience Experience Integrating Veeam with NetApp storage for snapshot-based backups and rapid recovery workflow Previous experience ensuring backup and storage platforms meet regulatory, encryption, retention, and audit requirements.
