Storage Infrastructure Engineer - Hedge Fund - £120K+
Our client is one of the world’s leading hedge funds and are looking to hire an experienced Storage Engineer in their London office.
You’ll work to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade storage services that can continuously scale to support the company’s growth.
You’ll need in-depth knowledge of distributed storage systems, storage architectures, and storage protocols, including performance optimization, capacity planning, and data lifecycle management.

Ideally, you’ll have experience with on-premises storage infrastructure, network-attached storage and cloud-based storage platforms.

Day-to-day you’ll work across storage infrastructure design and deployment, performance tuning, monitoring improvements and automation and tool development.
Requirements
- Excellent experience in an infrastructure role with a strong focus on Storage and Linux
- Strong expertise with distributed storage systems and storage protocols (NFS, GPFS, WEKA, Lustre, Ceph etc)
- Experience with storage performance analysis and optimisation
- Experience of tools such as Chef or Ansible
- Good Python and automation skills (Go or Rust also useful)
- Experience with modern software development best practices - Version control, agile development, CI/CD etc
- Knowledge of observability (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana etc)
- Experience with cloud storage
