Job Description
Job Family Definition
This role focuses on providing support and/or leading cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle for HPE Storage products. Key distinctions:
- Projects: Short-term, focused efforts with defined timelines.
- Programs: Longer-term, multi-functional initiatives spanning across:
- Engineering
- Supply chain & manufacturing
- Services & quality
- Product management
- Go-to-market teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage activities, resources, schedules, budgets, and cross-company communications to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Partner with PMO leadership and stakeholders to enhance process efficiency and program execution.
- Collaborate with external entities (OEM partners, standards bodies, suppliers).
Management Level Definition
At this level, contributions directly impact HPE products/solutions. Key expectations include:
- Leveraging subject matter expertise to resolve both common and complex program/business issues.
- Independently analyzing alternative solutions and selecting the most effective approach.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to less seasoned team members.
- Coordinating with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, services, and quality teams.

Responsibilities
The Storage Program Manager III will:
- Report to the HPE Storage Program Management Office (PMO) in the Hybrid Cloud organization.
- Lead one or more storage programs across functions and projects, ensuring:
- Delivery of product offerings, release scopes, and service-related milestones.
- Develop and manage:
- Schedules, key deliverables, budget inputs, and resource plans.
- Program health assessments including readiness, dependencies, and risk monitoring.
- Coordinate internal and external partners (OEMs, vendors, stakeholders) to align and adjust plans.
- Manage cross-functional teams while ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Drive storage releases, readiness activities, sustaining work, documentation, and launch support.
- Communicate program status and escalate risks to stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Mentor less-experienced staff in program execution.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
- Preferred: PMP or PMI certification.
- Typical experience: 4–6 years as a program manager in a scalable, technical environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in program planning tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, or similar software) to:
- Manage program schedules.
- Track action items, dependencies, risks, and readiness.
- Experience with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills:
- Evaluate data from engineering, supply chain, services, and operations.
- Identify early indicators of risks and resolve issues proactively.
- Cross-functional leadership:
- Collaborate with teams across engineering, product management, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, finance, and go-to-market functions.
- Budget and scheduling expertise:
- Manage schedules and budgets throughout the entire product lifecycle (introduction through operations).
- Communication and stakeholder management:
- Clearly articulate program plans, risks, and status to leadership and external teams.
- Escalate issues and negotiate solutions effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with mentorship when needed.

About the Role
- Job Location: Hybrid (2 days/week in HPE office).
- Departments: Engineering, Hybrid Cloud.
- Employment Level: TCP-03.
Salary Range (US):
- Colorado: USD $98,000–185,200 annual base
- North Carolina/Texas: USD $92,600–213,500 annual base Variable incentives may also be offered.
