At Gama Aviation, a leading Business Aviation company specialising in fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, we are actively recruiting a Tooling Stores Assistant. Reporting directly to the Tools Manager, this exciting role involves maintaining control of tools for a Part 145 organisation and supporting engineering teams through tasks such as:

  • Generating and managing tooling reports
  • Handling the issuing, returning, and tracking of tools
  • Conducting calibrations and inspections of tooling kits
  • Shipping out tools and logistics management

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate tool control process using the company’s Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system
  • Keep a hands-on approach to counter service, ensuring smooth tool management
  • Oversee the repair and calibration of tooling as needed
  • Conduct and document regular audits to ensure compliance with policies
  • Build professional relationships with management and engineering teams
  • Perform inspections of tooling both before and after use
  • Take ownership of self-management and performance of the tool store
  • Adhere to daily, weekly, and monthly checks as required
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and efficient tool store
  • Other duties assigned by the Tools Manager

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required

  • General computer literacy and familiarity with tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of product knowledge relevant to aviation tools
  • Preferable but not essential:
    • Prior experience in aviation tool stores or related fields
  • Proven ability to apply good tool support practices
  • Basic Excel skills—capable of entering and distributing information
  • Flexibility to support evolving business needs
